Albert Di Cioccio of Italian origin is an ice cream seller in the Liège region. He is looking for an activity to diversify in winter when he does not sell ice cream. That is how he begins his first import of hazelnuts... Italian ones! Over time, he begins cooking dates and figs which he packages in his workshops on the Rue Sous-l'eau in Bressoux. These specialities, which are still produced by us today, will launch the business. Albert has to give up his ice cream and dedicates himself full-time to dried fruit.
The arrival of the 2nd generation as reinforcement. Albert Di Cioccio is joined by his son Jacques. Trade develops further. New dried fruits enter the range, the initially Liège clientele expands to all of Belgium and begins to expand beyond our borders.
The small initial activity having prospered well, the company Fidafruit takes the form of a Société Anonyme (public limited company).
After renting all the available garages in the neighbourhood, Fidafruit decided to build a building in an industrial zone on the outskirts of the city, thus giving itself the space needed to continue growing.
To meet demand, Fidafruit constructs a 2nd packaging hall and equips itself with a belt roasting oven and a coating line. Thus the company launches into a new roasting activity and specialises in the roasting of jumbo in-shell peanuts which it imports from the United States and roasted salted pistachios which will give them access to new markets.
The founder Albert Di Cioccio retires. Naturally, his son Jacques, with nearly 20 years of experience in the trade, takes over from him.
Under the impetus of Mrs Di Cioccio, Fidafruit was the first company in Belgium to launch the end-of-year gift basket. Even today, every year Mrs Di Cioccio creates new compositions that are made in our workshops for the end-of-year celebrations.
Already concerned about the quality of its products, Fidafruit wants to move forward and implements its first HACCP system.
History repeats itself, the 3rd generation raised on dried fruits and nuts from the cradle, is beginning to make its arrival within Fidafruit!
To ensure daily internal quality control of its products, Fidafruit hires a Quality Manager.
As demand grew ever greater, Fidafruit increases its working area with a new warehouse.
To be as close as possible to its customers, Fidafruit hires a Community Manager responsible for developing the company's visibility on social networks.
